Please support our efforts to maintain the Old Shimosato School in Ogawa Town

  • The Old Shimosato School in Ogawa Town, Saitama, was built in 1964 and has long been a beloved place for local residents. Until it was closed in 2011, it was cherished by the community. Currently, we, the NPO Shimozato School, manage this building by raising funds for repairs, cleaning, and other maintenance tasks.
  • At NPO Shimozato School, we are leveraging this historic building to carry out various activities aimed at revitalizing the local community. We especially promote organic farming and local contribution events to widely spread the charm of the area. In recent years, it has also become recognized as a sacred place for anime themed around rural life in Japan, attracting many fans from both within Japan and abroad. Furthermore, it has become increasingly popular as a filming location for dramas and movies.
  • However, maintaining this building presents significant challenges. We do not receive management fees, and the operation has relied on volunteer efforts from local residents and self-raised funds, but we are currently reaching our limit. In order to pass this precious building on to the next generation and leave it as a beloved place for even more people, we need your support.
  • Therefore, we are currently seeking donations to preserve this place for future generations. Additionally, we plan to hold regular events such as large cleaning sessions, working together with fans to continue maintaining this building. We sincerely ask for your warm support and cooperation in preserving this historic building.
